Weekly Career Insight - use summer to help you get ahead
Summer is coming up and if you haven’t got a graduate scheme or internship, this isn’t the end of the world.
What you can do is use this summer to put you in pole position ahead of the September start to application season. Here’s a few
Personal projects - if you can’t get experience, create your own! For example if you want to get into marketing, do some freelance work for online brands or founders to build your own portfolio!
Boutique’s & SMEs - for every industry, there are hundreds of boutiques and & SME’s who work within it who don’t have formal experiences but if you directly reach out you can network into some informal internships - use AI tools to find you employees under 50 employees
Certifications - use your free time to get certifications relevant to your industry! For example those interested in asset management can look at FMVA or Bloomberg Terminals
Virtual Work Experience / Job Simulations - sights like forage, amplifyme, springpod and Bright Network provide virtual experience over the summer
Networking - the summer is usaully a quieter period of time across most industries and employees may have more time available for coffee intros and virtual catch ups. start reaching out to them!

Our Application Academy Program is back!
Last year we ran our first ever free employability program aimed at helping students and graduates secure offers. We had 1220 signs up across all 4 sessions and we culminated with our graduation day hosted by Barclays to 120 attendees
This year we’ve refined it and made it better! We have Barclays back on board again with more employers soon to be announced with some insight days included in the program
Last year we saw 25+ successful testimonials with attendees securing offers at the likes of Lazard, Accenture, Gallagher Re, Deloitte, NHS and mroe!
